Reading Surah Yusuf is an aid and cure for removing sadness. The Surah was revealed to Rasūlullāh ﷺ after the Year of Sadness. It was during this year that he felt great pain and yearning due to the passing away of his beloved wife and his uncle. The early generation including Imam 'Ata ibn Abi Rabah would say, 'Surah Yusuf is not heard by a person except that it brings rest to the soul.' These are treasures and gifts from the Creator to His creation. Source Instagram @ shaykh.aslam https://www.instagram.com/p/Cs3d3Z3oWcv/
It was narrated that Ubayy ibn Ka‘b (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: O Messenger(ﷺ) of Allah, I send a great deal of blessings upon youﷺ; how much of my du‘aa’ should be sending blessings upon you(ﷺ) ? Heﷺ said: “Whatever you wish.” I said: One quarter? Heﷺ said: “Whatever you wish, and if you do more, that will be better for you.” I said: One half? Heﷺ said: “Whatever you wish and if you do more, that will be better for you.” I said: Two thirds? Heﷺ said: “Whatever you wish and if you do more, that will be better for you.” I said: I will make all of my du‘aa’ for you. He ﷺ said: “Then your concerns will be taken care of and your sins will be forgiven.” At-Tirmidhi said: A saheeh hasan hadith.
